2013 Mazda CX-9
If your family is in need of a vehicle with a third row of seats, the 2013 Mazda CX-9 may be just what you need. This vehicle comes with a sharper, sportier, and more aggressive look than previous. Our Experts consider it to be both a responsive and refined vehicle. One of the most popular highlighted features includes the fact that it has such a spacious tall-wagon interior. Based on an extensive list of cross over SUv’s we’ve test driven over the years, the Mazda CX-9 is definitely the better looking of the bunch. The MSRP for this vehicle is estimated to be between $29,000 and $36,000. In terms of gas mileage, it is expected to get between 16-17 mpg in the city and 22-24 mpg on the highway.
Performance wise, there is not much that is expected to change between this model and previous models. It is still going to retain its 273 horsepower and its six-speed automatic transmission. This vehicle is also going to have a respectable number of safety features including the Forward Obstruction Warning System, High Beam Control System, and Lane Departure Warning System. There are high hopes that this vehicle will receive a higher safety rating than previous models.
In terms of purchase options, customers can choose to upgrade the stock audio to the 11-speaker BOSE surround sound. Other media infotainment features can also be upgraded including GPS navigation, voice command and a rear-view camera.
Interior wise, the 2013 Mazda CX-9 is expected to deliver the same package as previous models. This means that you will be able to fit five average size adults in the first two rows and three in the last row. Typically, most individuals opt for putting children in the back row because it is smaller and a little more difficult to get to and away from. The front driver seat also has a plethora of room which makes it a great vehicle for taller individuals who are looking for something comfortable to drive. The interior quality of the Mazda CX-9 does fall short from some of its competitors such as the Nissan Pathfinder, but it still stands strong with its high quality leather and materials used throughout the cabin space.
We were quite pleased with the performance and handling of the 2013 Mazda CX-9. Just like its inherent breed, the zoom-zoom driving dynamics and acceleration pulls out a grin every time we punch the pedal. The overall chassis feels stiff and performs well on cornering; however, due to its size and weight, we did experience a bit of body roll. Having the ability to fit 7 passengers while retaining its acceleration and handling capabilities makes the Mazda CX-9 quite a unique blend of both function and performance.
